Product Focus 50 MoldMaking Technology —— OCTOBER 2017 MOLD COMPONENTS/HOT RUNNERS Modular Lifter Assembly Simplifies Release of Undercuts for Large Molds Progressive Components announces the new ModuLifter Undercut Release System. This new component is a rod-style, standardized modular lifter assembly that Progressive Components says simplifies the release of undercuts for large molds. The ModuLifter consists of six different base sizes that accept rods from 1 / 2 " to 1 1 / 2 " diameters. The ModuLifter is available with or without cooling. Progressive Components offers hoses and fittings for it. The ModuLifter has acceleration and deceleration angles available in five or 10 degrees. The company says that the ModuLifter offers the maintenance technician familiarity, consistency and efficiency. Progressive Components / 847-487-1000 / procomps.com Variety of Mold Component Offerings A variety of mold components, accessories and other products will be on display at Fakuma 2017. Meusburger Georg GmbH & Co KG including the GMT6000 precision cutting and grinding machine, a gear unit for stack molds, high-temp hose, a clamping systemand repair table. The E 8630 Gear unit for stack molds can be tested once it is installed. This item has induction hardened gear wheels and gear racks in module 3 and 4. Additionally, Meusburger offers its newly-developed E 2187 Isotemp. The high temperature hose ensures more safety during the injection molding process via its new silicone sheath. The multifunctional H 1000 Clamping system has revolutionized the manufacturing processes in moldmaking and stands for high efficiency, the company says. The system enables precise clamping of the plates with repeatable accuracy in the micro range. The innovative H 4062 assembly table facilitates repair and assembly work on molds. Multiple air nozzles create an air cushion on the underside of the moveable plate sup- ports, which enables light and easy movement of the tool halves. Both split line faces are freely accessible without having to reposition them. A special sealing element makes this possible which, in contrast to conventional sealing rings, has the requisite long-term heat stability. The HT range supplements Hasco's standard range. All the cooling ele- ments bearing the letters "HT" at the end of their designation contain the new sealing elements as standard. As part of this development project, Hasco reviewed and refined the throughput of the couplings. Hasco says it's possible to increase throughput by up to 10 percent. The cooling system resists a higher temperature and offers more effective cooling by using connecting couplings with a shut-off valve. HASCO America Inc. / 828-650-2600 / hasco.com Tunnel Gate Inserts Provide Clean Part and Runner Separation Tunnel gate inserts from i-mold GmbH & Co. KG are made for bottom (sub- marine) gating in cases where the upper or visible surface of the part cannot have blemishes from gate vestige. The inserts ensure unrestricted passage of the melt and that the molded part and the runner or gate are separated cleanly, either at the edge or on the underside of the part. It ensures this separation so that the upper, visible surface is completely free from gate vestiges. The TGHL design (Tunnel Gate High Level) permits the internal gating of parts in the region of the parting line in cases where the parts have a rim all the way around or are ribbed close to the edge. The TGLL design (Tunnel Gate Low Level) is used for the gating of parts featuring an internal contour below the parting line. The tunnel gate inserts are suitable for the processing of most polymers. Like all i-mold tunnel gate inserts, the TGHL and TGLL versions are machined from HSS steel (M2/1.3343) and are exchangeable. DMS and PCS Company are both distributors of the i-mold gate inserts.
