AMERIMOLD Product Focus 60 MoldMaking Technology —— MAY 2017 Program Eases Mold Quoting ToolQuote from JDL Technical Services is an injection/die-cast mold quoting program that automatically generates a sketch of the tool layout based on part size and template settings. Once the mold layout has been tweaked to satisfaction, the program calculates all material sizes and costs, purchased items, and labor items based on the customizable, user-defined tool profiles selected. Revisions can be easily managed, and quotes can be printed or emailed directly from the program, with detailed costs and a tool sketch with customer press layouts, if desired. According to the company, recent improve- ments allow for easier setup, more customization and quicker transition into using the program. JDL Technical Services / JDLTech.ca / Booth 1230 Shop Uses AM for Low-Volume Production Met-L-Flo uses additive manufacturing technology for low-volume production, assisting customers from concept through to fully inspected and documented products. These advanced technologies, in conjunction with conventional manufacturing, allow for complex geometry with production tolerances, the company says. Products can be produced from a diverse range of materials and processes. Met-L-Flo Inc. / metlflo.com / Booth 416 "Oil Shroud" Virtually Eliminates Dust in Graphite Milling EDM Network will exhibit its HM43GT graphite mill, which features an optional "oil shroud" that virtually eliminates the dust common to graphite milling. EDM-compatible oil captures the graphite dust, and then it is filtered through 2-30-micron cartridge filters. Vacuum compatibility is also available. The HM43GT and two larger models, the HM65GT and HM86GT, all feature 30,000-rpm spindles with HSKE 32, 40 and 50 tapers, plus optional Blum laser diameter compensation and Fagor glass scales. In addition to graphite milling, the larger models can be equipped with 10- and 15-kW motors to mill metals as hard as 63 HRC. EDM Network Inc. / edmnetwork.com / Booth 1226 Technologies Include Multi-Tube, Multi-Process Plastic Injection Molds Georges Pernoud will highlight its plastic injection mold developments, including integrated solutions for thermal management, engine air and fluid conveyance, components, and systems. The company says its goals include eliminating the need for multiple tools, secondary operations like welding and other post-assembly operations. Proprietary technologies include multi- process molds and multi-tube molding. Georges Pernoud / pernoud.com / Booth 1030
