The series includes the C400iB and C600iB machines, and the C800iB, which accommodates parts as heavy as 5,000 lbs and as large as 49.2" x 38.4" x 11.8". All machines feature positioning accuracy of 0.0002" and repeatability of 0.0001". To maintain this precision, thermal displacement compensation technology accounts for temperature fluctuations that can distort the casting. The moving tank design also contributes to increased accuracy. The wire EDM column and lower arm are fixed so the table and workpiece move rather than the column. Rapid traverse rates on all machines are 78.74 ipm. The 3D Compensation Function reduces the need for indicating-in workpieces, enables the operator to measure the flatness of the workpiece and automatically tilts the wire to make it perpendicular to the surface of the work, reducing setup time. Core Stitch slug retention prevents slugs from dropping and eliminates the need for clamps, further increasing efficiency. FANUC's Advanced Automatic Wire Feed system can thread through the kerf, enabling full utilization of this feature. An automatic drop-down door on the C800iB eases workzone access for load- ing and unloading large parts, including molds, stamping dies and complex aerospace components. The series is capable of manufacturing complex components and offers seven-axis simultaneous cutting as an option. The C400iB features X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 15.75" x 11.81" x 10.04", and U- and V-axis travels of ±2.362". The C600iB features X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 23.62" x 15.75" x 12.20", and U- and V-axis travels of ±3.937". The C800iB features X-, Y- and Z-axis travels of 31.50 " x 23.62" x 12.20", and U- and V-axis travels of ±3.937". Methods Machine Tools / methodsmachine.com / Booth S-9119
