Insert System Reduces Tool, Storage Costs Walter's M4000 tool program uses an insert system that has a single, basic- shape compatibility with every M4000 body. The inserts can be used in all tools within the M4000 range to reduce tool and storage costs. Standard cut- ter styles include high-feed, end, chamfer, T-slot and helical mills. Also on display will be extensions of the company's DC170 line, a new type of solid carbide, inter- nally cooled drill for the drilling of ISO-P and ISO-K materials. The TC142 blind hole tap, able to machine stainless steels and ISO-M materials to a depth of 3xD, will also be showcased, as will Walter Turn Precision Coolant, which produces a direct coolant supply through the insert clamp and along the flank face of the insert. Walter USA LLC / walter-tools.com/us / Booth W-1700 Software Solutions Available for Design, Simulation, Additive Production Autodesk says its Netfabb software is designed to take additive manufactur- ing beyond prototyping and plastics to create production-grade parts at scale. The company provides a suite of modular manufacturing solutions, including CAM, additive manufacturing, composite processing, inspection, factory layout and robotics. It also offers its Within software for generative design optimiza- tion. These solutions are said to create a "manufacturing ecosystem" engineered to streamline the design-for-manufacturing workflow in order to improve process efficiency, reduce failure rates and lower product development costs.
