The mold can often run in a much smaller press—with less cycle time—all resulting in higher quality parts and a large cost savings per part. Depending on size, savings can be as much as 15 to 30 percent. The flange and threaded housing arrangement provide for simple installation and preload adjustment, while the intensifier reduces hydraulic volumes for more rapid cycling than standard cylinders. Decoupled from press movement, KOR-LOK can pull at any angle, any time, provides for in press preload adjustment, and since it is typically attached to the outside of the mold base, a smaller mold base can be used—even attaching after the mold is in the press.
