56 MoldMaking Technology May 2015 Product Focus / Amerimold Exhibitor Product Showcase Version 24 of the WorkNC CAM solution by Vero Software features multiple upgrades designed to make programming easier, including enhancements to the Rest Material Display function, which has been transformed into an analy- sis tool that helps CAM programmers reduce machining preparation time. This function enables users to rapidly evaluate various amounts of rest material left on a given model according to user-defined color ranges. This latest version also offers a new collision-detection algorithm with faster calculation abilities that takes into account the machine, the tool path and the clamping system. In three-axis and 3+2-axis machining modes, the collision detection module will designate the shortest possible cutter that can be used for any given operation. For five-axis machining, the Auto5 module will deter- mine the best possible conditions for a user-defined cutting tool. Special atten- tion also has been given to machining with small cutters to optimize cutting conditions for features such as ribs and narrow slots. Re-machining strategies also have been revamped for greater precision in detecting the areas to be re- machined. Z-level machining is used on vertical areas and planar surfaces are Compact Tool Setter Speeds, Simplifes Setup Marposs Corp., Booth 726 Marposs will introduce its Mida TS30-90 tool setter for machining centers, which features an integrated interface incorporated within its compact body that is designed to speed and simplify setup on the machine tool. The 90-degree tool setter also features a streamlined system for fast and easy alignment. The tool setter can be used for a variety of applications, including measur- ing tool length with stationary or rotating tools, tool radius and individual flutes for inspecting indexable inserts, as well as monitoring tool wear and tool breakage. Laser's LRS EVO Diode Line combination system for wire and powder clad- ding features an optional powder nozzle designed for low-cost and efficient welding of complex outlines. According to the company, it also works easily with precise, close-form structures from CAD software programs. The welding system is well-suited for use in tool making, moldmaking, mechanical engineering and other industries that require high-strength, precision and deformation-free welding connections. Capable of handling small and medium workpieces ranging to 200 kg, the system features two motorized Z axes and movable resonators for increased flexibility in work- piece processing. O.R.
