The spindle offers the torque, speed and horsepower to facilitate efficient machining of materials ranging from aluminum to high-temperature alloys including Inconel, titanium and steels with high HRc ratings. A robust two-axis rotary table offers flexibility and speed with a range of movement. The B and C axes feature a direct-drive motor with thermal stability, and robust bridge and bed designs provide high metal removal and rigidity. The machine table and work enve- lope are sized for ease of operation. The 25 x 11-ft. VMC is well-suited for a range of manufacturing applications, including a high volume, low mix of parts or a low volume, high mix of parts with differing lot sizes, part geom- etries and materials. With the ability to do lights-out or unat- tended manufacturing, the PX30i features a total of 33 pallet positions—32 storage and one in the workzone. The automatic toolchanger and automatic pallet changer feature a Methods-developed software program for efficient tool/pallet management and advanced scheduling functions.
